Hidewire

Waitlist open

Hiding isn’t enough. Prove it.

The future of getting outside with your friends.

Everyone on this list gets a link to an exclusive in-game reward the day Hidewire drops.

A round in progress: the round clock, a dark city map with landmarks, and a countdown to the next check-in.
The Hidewire lobby: an invite code in large type, the play zone drawn on a city map, and the party waiting to start.

How a round works

01 · The lobby

Get your group in

Three to twenty friends, one invite code. Nobody else can get in, and the host sets the zone, the length, and how often the phone goes off.

02 · The drop

Everyone scatters

One of you seeks, and is held for five minutes while the rest disappear. Everyone else has thirty minutes inside a zone about a kilometer across, on foot.

03 · The check-in

Prove where you are

Your phone goes off on a timer the group agrees to. Sixty seconds to photograph your hiding place, back camera then front, straight to the Seeker.

00:60Miss it and everyone finds out

04 · The hunt

You get seen

The Seeker gets everyone’s position for thirty seconds, every ten minutes, and nothing in between. The zone shrinks in the last third. A catch has to happen face to face.

05 · Around you

The city is the board

Real landmarks are worth the walk. A cache hands you an item, a beacon pays you XP for as long as you hold it, a waystation clears whatever has been done to you. Items are earned on foot, never bought.

Adults can also see games starting nearby and ask to join one. Eighteen and over, off until you turn it on, and it never shows anyone where you are.

06 · After the round

It all carries over

Every round feeds one profile. XP, levels, and a global board that ranks on nothing but XP. Handles and numbers, and no way for anyone on it to find you.
